Finding the Balance: My Journey as an Actor

Updated: Oct 19, 2023

Welcome to my corner of the web! I'm Oliver, an actor with roots in Greater Manchester, now embracing the beautiful city of Edinburgh while navigating the delicate balance between acting and 'real' life.

From a young age of eleven, I stepped into the world of professional acting, and my passion for the craft has only grown since. Early on, I had the privilege of playing Douglas in the touring production of Shadowlands, a significant role that set the stage for my acting journey. Throughout my formative years, I honed my skills and took on diverse characters, like 'Yonkers' in Bugsy Malone with the National Youth Music Theatre.

After dedicated training at The Northern Ballet School and The London School of Musical Theatre, my acting ventures expanded. From enchanting audiences in Wicked at London's Westend to touching hearts in Kes at the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse, I've had the joy of performing in various plays and musicals across the UK. The thrill of international stages was equally mesmerising, particularly playing Rolf in The Sound of Music in Kuala Lumpur and Hunter in [Title of Show] The Broadway Musical Vienna.

In more recent years, I've made appearances on the small screen, gracing popular British TV shows like Hollyoaks on Channel 4 and Casualty on the BBC. These experiences have shaped me into the actor I am today, pushing me to seek growth and artistic fulfilment.

Now based in the stunning city of Edinburgh and having graduated from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, I'm on a new adventure to find that perfect balance between pursuing my acting dreams and embracing the 'real' aspects of life. Join me as I share insights into my acting journey, experiences on screen and stage, and tips for fellow actors seeking exceptional headshots, reputable UK acting agents, and more.

Stay tuned for updates and stories from this actor's life in the heart of Scotland. Here's to the next act!
