His first significant role came at the age of twelve when he was cast as Douglas in a new touring production of the play Shadowlands. Other productions while still at school include Bugsy Malone with the National Youth Music Theatre in which he played 'Yonkers' amongst other characters.
After continuing his training at The Northern Ballet School and later graduating from The London School of Musical Theatre, Oliver has performed in plays and musicals throughout the UK including Wicked in London's Westend, Kes at the Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse and The Witches of Eastwick No1 National Tour. He has also had the opportunity to perform internationally, playing Rolf in The Sound of Music, Kuala Lumpur and as Hunter in the Austrian Premier of [Title of Show] The Broadway Musical Vienna.
More recent years have also seen Oliver appear on screen in British TV programmes including Hollyoaks for Channel 4 and Casualty for the BBC.
Oliver is currently furthering his actor training on the MA Classical and Contemporary Text degree programme at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
